A coastal research and public environment exploring how science, hospitality and civic life can coexist within a single architectural system.
A working harbour, a research question and a public that keeps arriving at the water. The project began by imagining someone walking the coast and being pulled — without noticing — into a building that studies the sea.
Laboratories, workshops, exhibition and small hospitality functions organise around a public route that continues the waterfront rather than interrupting it. Research stays visible; the shoreline is never severed.

Kyrenia sits on the northern coast of Cyprus, a city of roughly 150,000 shaped by fishing, tourism and a working harbour. The site is held between industrial, educational, residential and horticultural zones within a five-kilometre radius — a threshold rather than a single-use address.
The project asks how a research building can stay porous to the city. Laboratories, workshops, exhibition and small hospitality functions are organised around a public route that continues the waterfront rather than interrupting it.
